We require an experienced Project Engineer with a strong technical background, (preferably in Engineering or Physics) immediately to work for one of our most prestigious clients in South Wales. Looking to pay a very competitive salary along with an outstanding benefits package, the Project Engineer will preferably be qualified to HNC (mechanical) and have extensive project engineering experience.
Skills and Experience Required:
Experience of checking mechanical designs is essential (preferably special purpose machinery). Past experience checking designs confirming to set specifications is essential. Excellent hands on mechanical engineering skills is required, applicants with electrical knowledge as well will be favoured – 70/30 mechanical bias. Those that have demonstrated backgrounds of developing Mechanisms / Mechatronics will be preferred; however applicants with excellent project leadership ability along with good planning and development skills will also be interviewed. 3 years previous work experience in a similar role is required, and an Understanding of European Directives is a bonus.

Main Duties:
Working within a team of four Specialist CAD Engineers (Mechanical and Electrical) on a number of new and existing design and build products your main day to day duties will be;
- Checking 2D and 3D designs (AutoCAD and Inventor)
- Lead and guide the CAD designers to produce what they require
- Check the design confirms with Protocol
- Create the testing protocol
- Test the machines to that protocol
- Occasionally assist with the build of special purpose machinery and bench top machinery
- Logical Problem Solving
- Develop Mechanisms / Mechatronics for projects
- Gain qualifications to further your own career

The Project Engineer will report into the Engineering Director but have complete freedom running their own projects along with a mechanical, electrical and electronic design team. You will help lead and guide the design engineers in what to design, and help develop projects paying particular attention to the Mechanisms and Mechatronics. You could earn up to £33,000 per year, an outstanding pension, competitive annual bonus along with pension and much more.
