My client is a multinational consultancy with an outstanding global reputation in their field. They currently have a permanent requirement for a Plant Operations Manager (POM) to join the company on a permanent basis in Sudan. The successful POM will receive a salary of up to £60k as well as comprehensive benefits including international health cover and accommodation.
Applicants must be educated to degree level, ideally in Chemical Engineering and previous experience of running operations within a water plant will be a significant advantage. Experience of budget management and recruiting staff will also be considerable. It is essential that applicants have strong command of spoken and written English and prior experience of working overseas is essential.
Reporting to the Project Director, responsibilities will include:
- Total responsibility to operate and maintain the water treatment plant
- Ensure plant and equipment are run in accordance with good operational practise
- Develop the Operational Phase Environment and Social Management Plan based on the Environmental and Social Action Plan, forming part of the BOOT agreement.
- Raise monthly invoices on behalf of owner and for the services of operator
CIWEM membership is an essential requirement of the POM. Applicants without the required experience will not be considered for this post. This role requires previous experience of working in a similar position overseas.
